Professor Li Wenming led a team to attend the 2021 Annual meeting of Tourism Science in Shanghai and carried out investigation on red tourism

Recently, professor Li Wenming led two graduate students Ao Qiong and Pei Luxia to attend the 4th National Parks and Sustainable Tourism Symposium——the 2021 Annual Conference of Tourism Science held by Shanghai Normal University.  The theme of the conference is Sustainable Development of tourism: Theory and Practice innovation under the New Background, and the innovative path and mechanism of sustainable development of tourism are discussed from multiple subjects and various situations to promote sustainable development of tourism.  The conference was organized by the School of Tourism of Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai institute of Tourism and the Editorial Department of Tourism Science. Liu Xiaomin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Normal University and Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai institute of Tourism attended the conference and delivered a speech. Nearly 200 teachers and students from Shanghai Normal University, Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Nankai University, Sichuan University, East China Normal University, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics and other universities attended the event.

In the context of COVID-19 prevention and control, the conference was conducted in the mode of combining online and offline, and 10 well-known experts and scholars from the tourism field and industry were specially invited to deliver keynote speeches on topics such as Integrating National parks with sustainable tourism development. At the same time, experts and scholars held in-depth discussions at three sub-sessions on the topics of Tourist Behavior and Tourism Market, Digital Innovation and Tourism Brand Marketing and National Park Management and Rural Revitalization.

 


During the conference, Professor Li Wenming and participating experts and scholars had depth discussions and exchanges on the significance of national parks in ecotourism, ecological environment education and tourist pro-environmental behavior, and the function and status of guidance in ecotourism. Two graduate students, Ao Qiong and Pei Luxia, listened to the excellent reports of experts and scholars carefully, and participated in the interaction and communication in the first session of Tourist Behavior and Tourism Market and the third session of National Park Management and Rural Revitalization.

After the meeting, Professor Li Wenming led the two students to visit the Site of the first National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and conducted research on the theme of high-quality development of red tourism, including presentation of party history materials, design of exhibition hall, interpretation of red culture, scene experience, and tourist participation. Guide the students to experience the vivid practice of red tourism development and condense the academic research problems of tourism.
